Builder website design in Sheffield

Extensions on a slope, where the difference between a straightforward job and a retaining wall is two metres of fall that nobody mentions on the phone. Ask about it on the form and you stop pricing blind.

Three weeks from go ahead to live, and about ninety minutes of your time: one call, twelve photographs, one read through.

Places your site can be built to cover, never a list of builder jobs anyone has done in them.

The awkward bits

The things you say before you say yes

Every site visit turns out to be a different job from the phone call

Because the phone call cannot see the garden. Ask for two photographs from the back door, a rough size and whether the ground falls away, before anyone reaches you. On these streets that one question is the difference between a quote and a wasted afternoon.

Half my quotes go to somebody cheaper

The ones that go on price alone were never yours. The ones you lose because the customer could not see a difference are, and the difference is a written one: the order of works, what happens when the ground opens up on a slope, and what you will not take on.

Which areas are worth putting on the page?

The ones with the gardens and the money for a project: Nether Edge, Ecclesall, Dore, Fulwood, Crookes. And be clear about S21, S25, S26 and S36, which sit in Derbyshire, Rotherham and Barnsley and mean a different building control department.

I get plenty of work off word of mouth

You do, and it is worth more than anything a website brings you. The trouble is it only reaches people who already know somebody who knows you. Half of Sheffield moved in from somewhere else and has nobody to ask, so they search, and the man who turns up in that search gets the job you would have got.

What you get

The pages your site needs

A page per job, never a page per suburb.

Extensions

The sequence of the job, week by week, in your own words.

Loft conversions

A different buyer from an extension, so a different page.

Renovations

Dates and sequence matter more than finished photographs.

Groundwork and foundations

The part nobody photographs and everybody worries about.

Structural alterations

Where building control and a calculation enter the conversation.

Garden rooms and garages

The faster jobs that keep a team busy between the big ones.

What each of these pages has to do

The one question your form must ask

Do you have drawings yet?

It sorts a customer who is ready to book from one who is eighteen months out, and both are worth having.

One thing about Sheffield worth checking

Checkable, like the rest of this page. Here is where we read it.

Sheffield's own numbering has holes in it — no S15, S16, S19, S22, S23, S24 or S27 to S34 — and S18 next door is addressed to Dronfield rather than Sheffield. A coverage list built by counting upwards from S1 invents districts that do not exist.

Beeforge is a small studio working across the UK and Ireland. There is no office in Sheffield and we are not going to pretend otherwise — nothing here says we have worked in the city, only that we build for builders who do.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked most

How much does a website cost for a builder?
Ours come in under the price of a coffee a day and you get the number on the first call. Across the market a template is a few hundred pounds and a written site is several thousand. Whoever you use, ask for the five year total including hosting and changes.
Why is my building company not showing on Google Maps?
Almost always no Google Business Profile, one that was never verified by post or video, a business name and address that does not match your site, or no reviews at all. Fix them in that order. All four are free and all four beat a redesign.

Next step

Tell us your trade and the towns you cover

A straight yes, no, or not yet, within one working day.

Nothing to sign

No twelve month tie in, no exit fee and no notice period. Stop whenever you like and the site stays yours.

It is yours, in writing

Before you pay a penny we tell you who the domain is registered to, where the files sit, who holds the logins, and how to move the site elsewhere.

Your side of it is small

No copy to write and no hosting to work out. Answer questions for about an hour and a half and send twelve decent photos.
